The Cyprus cyclamen (Cyclamen cyprium) is considered to be the national plant of Cyprus. An endemic species to the island, it is common throughout the Troodos mountains, in the Akamas Peninsula and on the Pendadactylos mountain range.

The Cyprus cyclamen is a tuberous perennial with fleshy, toothed or shallowly lobed leaves which have a characteristic crimson underside. A sweet-scented flower, its petals are white with a notable deep magenta M-shaped blotch at their base.

It blooms from September to January. It thrives at altitudes from 50m to 1.100m above sea level in moist, shaded areas, usually under shrubs.
